Sometimes a TLDR is all you need

Branded Obama Foundation's first initiative
The Obama administration tapped 14 agencies to brand and promote 14 initiatives. I creative directed "My Brother's Keeper" a mentorship initiative to support young men and boys of color. I led the branding, and creative directed a series of videos featuring President Obama. That launched at the MTV Movie awards to an audience of several millions.

Branded Chrome as the Fun browser, on any device
Back when everyone was still using Safari and Internet Explorer, Google wanted to showcase their cross-device-syncing new browser. I helped 72andSunny win the business and launch their first campaign.

Launched HTC as most customizable smartphone
HTC was a leading maker of Android phones, but they were completely unknown. I was part of the pitch and launch team at Deutsch LA to launch the brand in their first global campaign with the line "You don't need to get a phone. You need a phone that gets you." HTC more than doubled their sales in the year following.

Designed multimedia interactive learning experience for Selma
I was a UI lead in creating an interactive educational experience to teach the history of US Civil Rights in school. The interactive experience included clips from the movie Selma as well as maps, photos, timelines, and quizzes. It remains one of the most meaningful and visually compelling digital projects I've worked on.

Reimagined the space exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry
I was contracted to help the MSI rethink their space exhibition. I reconcepted the space, researched and proposed new technology experiences, and designed a state-of-the-art exhibition in a deck to be used as a fundraising tool to build the concept in 2026.

Developed Lumify launch website for Bausch+Lomb
I creative directed the digital launch of a new eye drop from B+L. From overseeing the creation of the website to repurposing assets for social content, I led a small team that made the launch a success.

Living room concerts bring attention to the rental housing crisis for Make Room
To raise awareness about 11 Million families one paycheck away from homelessness, we created a brand called Make Room. Hosting living room concerts across the country with documentary stories, we had Carly Rae Jepsen, Miguel, American Authors, violinist Tim Fain, Third Eye Blind and more. The campaign raised over $90k and had over 850 press stories in its first year.

Creative Directed the first president in VR for Clinton Global Initiative
For CGI's 10 year anniversary, we created the first ever President in VR. With a theme of "The Future of Impact" we told 5 stories of the impact CGI was having in East Africa and brought the film to the event to show political, social, and community leaders in order to garner more commitments toward impact in the coming year. It launched with over 1M views on Facebook in the first week, as part of Facebook's introduction to 360 imagery.

Restructured and redesigned Metlife's website for small business insurance
As a lead UI designer, I was part of a small team to rebuild the small business insurance experience on a rebranded Metlife site. We thought through a mobile-first experience and I was a strategic lead in the digital product that still is foundational to their business.

Pitched Microsoft brand campaign to own nerd-dom for the Super Bowl
Microsoft was looking to reposition themselves amidst the backlash of the Mac vs PC ads. I took a big swing and created a researched deck of how culture is embracing geekdom and nerding out. The pitch went all the way up to the CMO but never was executed. I still love the strategy.

Created BettVR with Age virtual reality series for isolated seniors
I created and directed a series of VR films for senior citizens. The project was written up in Wired and brought me all over the world as a speaker. I also designed dedicated VR programming around culture and travel, which, along with a dozen headsets, phones, and tablets, were donated to a senior center in NYC.

I write The Email Refrigerator with monthly insights and stories on a theme
Every month (since Dec '18) I choose a theme and write an email with several short essays connecting things going on in culture, in my life, and in the news around that topic. Past topics have included Language, Risk, Windows, and over 70 other topics. Read the backlog and sign up here.
