Bio

[Ok. Let me put on my best 3rd person voice so I can brag a little bit more comfortably. Here we go…]

Jake Kahana is pioneering the future of work. He is an artist and teacher helping people thrive in a world overrun with distractions by leading them in unlearning bad habits and replacing them with new, better ones.

As a former advertising creative director, he learned how to develop brands, pitch stories, and execute ideas quickly, solving business problems for some of the world’s biggest companies. With over a decade in the ad world and several years in the social impact space, Jake has made Superbowl commercials for tech giants, integrated ad campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, documentary short films and VR experiences for some of the largest NGOs, and worked with the Obama Foundation as part of the first iteration of The White House Creative Alliance.

In 2016, he cofounded and branded Caveday, facilitating deep work in order to retrain people how to be more effective in a distracting world. Caveday has led over 10,000 hours of deep work for their community of “cavedwellers” around the world supporting each other to transform the way they work. Jake also leads content development for Caveday’s corporate workshops, team training programs, and global newsletter.

Jake’s artwork has also been showcased and celebrated around the world and his personal projects have been featured in WIREDFastCo, and The Huffington Post. As a creative director and brand consultant, his client work is not only award-winning, but has been parodied on Late Night TV, hit the Reddit top 10 (#6!), nominated for an Emmy, included in the MoMA permanent collection, and hung on his parents’ refrigerator (since 1989).

He is a US faculty member at The School of Life and is an adjunct professor at The City College of New York’s graduate program in branding and integrated communication. He currently lives in Jersey City, NJ with his wife and daughter where he spends his downtime improving his digital photography skills and working on the perfect dad joke.
